the story behind wild north imagery

My journey into photography began more than 30 years ago in law enforcement, where a camera was a vital tool for documenting scenes with precision and integrity. Over time, photography became more than part of the job — it became an outlet.

After decades in a demanding career, I found that stepping into the woods with a camera offered something entirely different: stillness, focus, and perspective. What began as a way to clear my mind evolved into a passion for capturing wildlife and the untamed landscapes of the North.

I grew up as an avid hunter, spending countless hours outdoors. Today, I find deeper fulfillment in photographing wildlife rather than harvesting it — preserving moments rather than memories alone. Through my lens, I aim to show animals in their natural environment and the quiet strength of the land they inhabit.

Wild North Imagery was created to share those moments — to capture the raw beauty of nature and offer a glimpse into places where patience, respect, and stillness come together. Every image reflects my belief that the natural world has the power to calm, inspire, and remind us of what truly matters.
